Welcome to EV Clean Charging Inc.

EV Clean Charging, Inc. Is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit registered in the State of Illinois and GATA Certified.  Our organization is dedicated to reducing the carbon footprint and mitigating the environmental hazards posed by gasoline-powered vehicles.

Our mission aligns closely with both state and federal initiatives to promote the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), which are crucial to our shared goal of a cleaner, more sustainable future.

Current Challenges in EV Infrastructure

As you may be aware, Illinois is witnessing a significant rise in electric vehicle registration, now exceeding 70,000 EVs, a figure set to grow exponentially in light of recent legislation and statewide goals to adopt 1 million EVs by 2030.

Despite this positive trend, a major barrier persists: the deficiency of public EV charging stations, particularly in urban areas like Chicago and its surrounding communities.

More than 40 of Chicago’s 77 community areas lack public EV charging facilities. This shortage poses a significant hurdle not just in urban centers, but also in rural locales where prospective EV buyers are apprehensive about the range limitations due to sparse charging options.

Furthermore, approximately 70% of Chicago residents live in multi-unit buildings with out garages, which complicates access to overnight charging solutions typically available in single-family homes.

Urban Charging Network Expansion

We aim to partner with the state to install public EV charging stations in underserved urban areas, targeting high-density neighborhoods with inadequate charging infrastructure. Incentivization for Multi-Unit Dwellings: To facilitate access in multi-unit buildings, we propose incentives for building owners to install EV chargers.

This approach will support residents who do not have the option of home chargers. Rural and Highway Charging Solutions: Expand charging infrastructure in rural areas and along major highways, thus alleviating range charge anxiety and promoting EV adoption across a broader geographic area.

Public-Private Partnerships

Collaborate with businesses and local governments to create a network of charging stations, utilizing public spaces and commercial properties to enhance accessibility. Community Engagement and Education: Conduct community workshops and informational campaigns to educate the public about the benefits of EVs and how to access the new charging infrastructure.

Call to Action

Given the ambitious targets set by the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act, and the federal push towards EV adoption, our company seeks not only to meet these goals but to ensure that infrastructure development proceeds in a manner that is equitable and far-reaching.

We are confident that Illinois can become a leader in EV adoption and serve as a model for other states.
